        The shift pattern for this role is 2 shifts over 7 days 7pm to 7am (alternate weekends)

        This role is based in Ilkley – less than 5 minutes walk from the train station with direct trains from Leeds and Bradford Forster Square. There is also a direct bus service (number 62) from Keighley.

        We are a care setting for the over 55’s in Bingley.

        We are looking for an experienced and reliable Head Chef to lead our catering team in preparing and cooking healthy and creative meals for our residents.

        The role is 38 hours per week made up of 4 shifts over 7 days working 8am to 6pm – NO EVENING WORK. Working some weekends on a rota basis

        Key Functions of the Role

        § To monitor and maintain consistent food standards and quality across all areas and during all stages of production and supply.

        § To ensure quality control measures and hygiene systems are achieved at all times.

        § To have total accountability for the day to day running of the kitchen service.

        § To order all food and food related products using company nominated suppliers

        § To achieve food budget cost controls ensuring minimum wastage within the unit

        § To actively participate in the ongoing management and development of menus and that all menus are costed accurately.

        § Maintaining the cleanliness and good order of the kitchen and food storage areas.

        § To provide effective leadership for kitchen staff through supervision, support and mentoring.

        § To implement and monitor staff rotas and annual leave tracking.

        § To participate in the identification of training needs of all staff within line of responsibility on both an individual and group basis, including work methods, safety at work, health, hygiene and quality.

        § To maintain all equipment within the catering operation through due care and diligence as instructed.

        § To carry out regular staff supervisions and hold frequent group meetings with staff and residents.

        § To ensure that the meals provided are cooked and presented to a high standard and that they are nutritional and well balanced.

        § To handle complaints and compliments in line with the company’s policies and procedures in liaison with the Quality Manager.

        § To ensure that the staff uniform is adhered to and that staff are clean and presentable at all times.

        Being a Housing Administrator…

        The shift pattern for this role is Monday to Friday 5 hours per day and 1 in 4 weekends.

        As the Deputy Housing Manager, you will work with and support the Housing Manager including during their absence and/or annual leave to ensure the efficient running of all our supported living services.

        This is a very hands on and varied role. Your duties will range from administration tasks, to helping out in the kitchen and light maintenance work when required.
